Pom agression

Question
I have sweet little pom baby, 3 1/2 months old he is very sweet and lovable, dont get me wrong..BUT..when I try to clean his ears or restrict him in any way by holding his head so I can get something from his month. He tries to bit me? Any advice on stopping this behavior.

I tell him firming "no" and try to continue what Im doing but I dont want to get bit either so he usually wins this battle. (he has earmites, so need to do this) I know I should show him whos in charge, Im not new to dog behavior, but any tips on making this easier for me and him.

It just really surprises me how aggresive he gets when I try to clean his ears, hes such a sweet dog any other time loving and kissing and always right by my side? have had other dogs before who never liked it but never tried to snap and bite at me like him?

Also any help with nail trimming, tips and what size/kind should I buy to start out with for a pup. I also have a 2 yr old pom should I use a different size on her, usually i bring her to the local salon but since she needs it so often id like to try and start doing this myself? Thank you

Answer
First of all you need to take the pup to your vet for
drops to kill ear mites.  It obviously hurts when you clean
his ears.  If you put the drops in that the vet gives you
just rub his ear and as the mites dissapear so will the wax and mite buildup.

Get a small clipper for both dogs.
