Housebreaking my Pom

Question
i purchased my pom from a breeder when he was three months old, he is now 15 months old. Getting him to pee outside is no problem, but to get him to poop is another issue. If he does it in the house he will either eat it or will let me know right away. I take him outside many times a day on a leash, and there are days that he will go, but other times he just refuses, and seconds after he gets in the house he poops on the paper. The vet has tried different prescriptions to stop him from eating his poop, but did not work.
sure hope you have some answer. thanks judi

Answer
Many dogs eat their feces.  It is gross but something dogs do.  Often times it can be becuase there is still nutrient smells in it.  If your pup is still pooping in the house you may need to take away some of his freedom till he can be trusted in the house.  If he is going on paper then you are ahead of the game.  Try moving the paper near the door but keep a close eye on him for signs he needs to go and PRAISE PRAISE PRASIE when he poops outside.

There are many others who have suffered through the process of housebreaking :o) CHeck out the archives for some of those tips and tricks.
