Hi Jessica,

Poms are beautiful, loving, loyal, adaptable, very intelligent and want to please their owners.  They are very happy little dogs!  Poms that have behavioral problems--like being aggressive and hyper are due to poor breeding.  Socialization and training are also very important for any type of dog.  The most important thing to them is just to be with you.  They are not good with young children. Also, you must be very careful not to step on them or drop anything on them.  They can also be a little stubborn.  They can be difficult to house train.  Because they are so small they must be watched closely outside.  They're kind of like babies or very young children, only easier.  It's important to treat it like a dog though, and not a little person.

The most important thing--and I cannot stress this enough, is to get one from a reputable breeder.
