potty train question

hi trish
i like to know how do i train my pom for the time that i am working. usually i take him out in the morning and night after dinner, and he usually both poop and pee. i have a litter box in his confined area, but he is not using this litter box successfully, i let him free with supervision when i am home. so i would like to know how to train him to poop and pee in the box during the day that i am at work,or the days that i cant take him for a walk like rainny days. also despite the lack of exercise issue, is it possible to make poms a full time indoor dog?

Give the pup only a place to sleep and the litter box.  
Set up a place where you have a big bed and then a big litterbox.  I use an under the bed tote and fill it 1/3 of the way with wood stove pellets.  The pups will naturally go out of their bed to potty after sleeping and then once they make it to the litter box regularly then you can give them more free space.
