Gizmo Doesnt like me.

Hello.

Me and my wife have a 2 month old Chocolate pom named gizmo. Im affraid gizmo doesn't like me. BUT HE LOVES MY WIFE!

We have only had him for 2 weeks. But i dont know if he's mad at me for scolding him when trying to potty train or what.

Reasons.

I work at home so im home with gizmo all the time. I spend as much time as i can with him, i try to play with him, be nice to him all that stuff because i love my pup. But gizmo hides under the bed from me, or goes in his cage. He listens to me absouletly not at all. As soon as mt grandma or my wife gets home, he goes nuts over them crying and begging for them to notice him. HE LICKS ALL OVER MY WIFE! BUT WHEN I TRY TO KISS THE PUP, OR RECIEVE LOVE, HE TURNS HIS HEAD, or puts his paws up. He also listen to my wife when she' says "no" "come here"  and all the other basic puppy stuff. He loves her and it shows.


WHY DOES MY DOG NOT LIKE ME! (lol)


But seriously. Before I did my research on poms, i was scalding him by yelling when he would pe in the house. Now i use the " no-no" approach and take him out regularly. Do you think maybe thats why he doesnt respond to me because he thinks i am mean?

What you think is happening is probably so.  Or he could just have a preference for women, that sometimes happens, too.  What you might want to try to KEEP SHOWING HIM YOU LOVE HIM, and also carry treats around with you.  Once he realizes you have treats and when he comes up to you for attention he will get some... it may work. :-)  Don't go back on your training, though, either.  And as far as the "come" command.  Try leashing him when you want to work on it and when you say COME pull the leash to you repeating the command.  When he is at your feet, treat him and praise him then set his leash loose.  Repeat often.
