Barking

Question
One month ago we bought a 1 year old male pom.  We love him so much but his barking is making us crazy.  When we first met him he was very calm and never barked.  Now anytime someone comes over or rings the doorbell he barks non-stop!  He also gets so excited that he pees.  Do you think any of those high-pitch sound colars work?   I just ordered one and hope it wasn't a waste of money.

Check out the book and show The Dog Whisperer. http://channel.nationalgeographic.com/channel/dogwhisperer/ He has some great advice on helping a dog stop barking.  You will also need to be consistant with your dog in training.
