Question
Is it safe to give a pomeranian pup, just at 8 weeks a bath?

Answer
Hi Amy,
Yes it is safe to give your pomeranian puppy a bath.
Just take the following precautions:

1) Make sure the shampoo you use is a TEARLESS PUPPY shampoo it tends to be softer and more gentle on the puppy coat and skin. Also using puppy shampoo decreases the risk of any skin irritations, and will ensure a happy healhy and clean looking puppy. When your puppy is about 6 monthes to 1 year you may start useing the adult shampoos.

2) Be careful around the eye area. Avoid any shampoo around the eyes just use some warm water to wash the face with a soft cloth. Using this method you prevent any eye irritations and infections.

3) Make sure you rinse out all the excess shampoo. If your puppies coat is not properly rinsed then dry skin irritation may occur.

4) When finished bathing I suggest you blow dry the coat. Because he is a puppy you don't want him drying naturally as he may catch a cold and get sick. When you blow dry don't keep the blow dryer directly next to the coat like your own hair keep some distance and at the same time you brush and blow dry. Be sure to make this a fun expirience because he may be alittle frightend by the blow dryer. Also after the blow dry and his coat is nice and dry he will be very fluffy and playful.

5) Only bath your puppy once - two times a month no more as his tender puppy skin may dry out.

I hope this helps, and have fun with your new puppy.
Take care and good luck
Kindest Regards
Natasha
