Male Pom Shaking

Question
My Pom male just turned 1 year old. He is very very sweet. I'm not
being biased, he has never growled or nipped at anyone. I made sure that he
was very well socialized because I want him to be a therapy dog. He
eats regularly and we have a wonderful relationship. He is independent,
lays under the table and does not lay in my bed at night, but when I pick
him up he gives lots kisses and lays in my arms till I put him down. He
was never crate trained and when I leave the house I put him in our
master bathroom. He gets his bed, food, water, a puppy pad, blankets and
toys. He has always been very good about being in the bathroom. But for
the last few days, if I try to leave him, he begins to shake and put
his ears back. I am worried that he's having anxiety attacks from us
leaving. I have no idea why since he's never done anything like this
before. He's not doing anything destructive while I'm gone like peeing or
tearing things up. Also I have notice for the last few days when my fiance
gets his leash out to go for a walk, he runs away from him and goes to
me and won't go back, but once the leash is on he's excited again! My
fiance hasn't been mean to him or hurt him in any way. What can I do to
help him? I hate to see him that way! Is there something else wrong
with him?

Answer
It sounds like a behavior issue or maybe you have unintentionaly fostered this behavior by coddling him while he is anxious instead of help him past it by changing his focus.  Don't praise/pet/talk to him while he is acting that way or you are telling him "good boy-be afraid-be anxious-good job" instead of giving a slight tug on the leash and tell him "ahh"
Daily long walks can help too.
Buy the book "Cesars Way" by Cesar Milan-I learned GOBS from him.
Make sure non of his behvior is due to a health issue-first and foremost.

Best of luck.
