Shaving?

Question
Hi I have a pomeranian she is 7months old and when she was around 4months old we shaved her beacase it was so HOT! WEll her fur is just barely starting to grow back slowly and was wondering do you think this will effect her coat when she gets older? Plus about how old are poms when they stop growing. Thank You.

Answer
You shaved right at the time "the uglies" or puppy shed was coming on so not only will you have to wait through that stage but also for the new adult coat to come back.  Give it till she is about 8 months old and you should see a huge difference in the amount and length of coat she grows back.

You can expect her to be full grown by about 12-18 months depending on her family tree.  They were bred down from big arctic dogs so there are sometimes what is refered to as throw backs that get to be pretty big.  We usually double the 12 week weight to get an idea of the adult size.
