My Pomeranian and her circling

Question
I have a wonderful pomeranian named Tammy. She is 4 and is great about going outside to go potty. There is no big problem...BUT I am dying to know WHY all the circling BEFORE she goes potty? I kid you not, I have counted like 35 to 50 circles prior to her squatting to go. Why do they do that?

It is just something dogs do-what she is doing seems excessive and she may have behavioural or psychological issues she is trying to deal with in her circling.
