QuestionHi Mary,
My name is Lisa and I have a pom that is 14yrs old. Last year we lost her daughter and that was so hard(she was ten). Now I am so afraid of losing her. I have been told that they dies from cancer and if so is there any symptoms I should watch for. I was also wondering what is the average life span which again i was told 16yrs. Is this right?
If there is anything that you can suggest to me to keep her around longer with us please let me know. She is a big part of our famliy.
Thanks for your time
Lisa
AnswerThey can live to 16 to 18 years old. I would put her on a good dog food (not anything from the super market) but a dog food shop and make sure she gets extra vitamins.
My big dogs like Labs, Rotts and etc usually get cancer but
I have not had this in my Poms.
Again, take her in for regular checks ups with your vet,
feed her quality foods and she should live a long and healthy life.
