Answer
Look on the internet - there are lots of sites that can help you with housetraining.  Remember he is a puppy so puppies chew, carry things around...  Take anything you do not want him to hve and give him a chew bone or treat or toy instead.  There are a lot of foods out there but try to find  some that have no by-products, no fillers.  You will have to loon at most cheap foods have these.  Dachshunds are stubborn so it will take awhile to housetrain him.  Also, do not let him get overweight because they are prone to back issues.  I feed mine small meals twice a day.  Feed him a puppy food for a little while.  Try puppy pads for training to go.  Take him outside often and praise him when he goes out there.  There is no reason to be scared - he is too little to be of any danger to an adult.  The can get nippy to children so if you have kids, make sure they do not mess too much with him and are gentle.  Dachshunds are small dogs and they can be a loving family member.  Just train him, love him, and give him good care and you should be fine.  There are also dog classes you can take him to if that will help.
