Chihuahua not drinking any water

Question
I offer my 9 week old puppy water before every feeding usually 4 times a day.  He sniffs the water but refuses to drink.  For the first day he was with me I watched this behavior closely.  On the second day I bought "Cat-Sip" and gave his some to drink which he did. Now I have to give him the Cat-sip everyday because he still will not drink any water.  What should I do?

Hi Kim - Don't give up - he will drink out of a bowl in time.  My Chi did this to me, too.  I was so happy when she finally did drink from a bowl.  I was so excited to see her little tongue in the water dish.  Give her a small saucer or very small cup. Also, you can add a little sugar to the water for taste... ( don't do this too long) ....

You can also add some water to her food...just a tablespoon and mix in.  

Let me know how the sugar goes with her.  A little sugar won't hurt her as long as you don't do this forever.
