orphan boxer puppies

Question
One week ago I was give 2 boxer puppies, a male and a female was told then that they were 4-5 weeks old. However, only  their canine teeth had broken through. Currently the male weighs 4.7 lbs and the female weighs 4.3 lbs after eating. I am trying to figure out how old they are, so that I can give them their puppy shots and what food to be feeding them.
I bought wet puppy food (puppy food for the dog lover soul) they would eat some but they had tummy issues. Now I am giving them a diet on  puppy formula in a bottle, and rice and a little yogurt in a bowl 4 times a day. Is this what they should be eating? They still have super soft poop (however much better).
Please help. I am going to take them to the vet before they go to their new homes, since they are doing well I am waiting to help save money.
Thank you.
If you would like to see pictures I have some posted at www.whatsuplittlepup.com

Answer
Have you taken them to your vet for a wellness checkup? (I looked at the pictures after answering you-- and see that you stated he likes food and she likes bottles--)

4-5 lbs is small for the 4-5 week old age. They should be around 7lbs. therebouts.

I have an orphan formula that is healthy and will help them gain weight. I came up with it when my female didn't produce enough milk for 6 pups and the vet approved it whole-heartedly.

In blender:

Blend (not froth)

1 cup whole plain yogurt (no flavors: you can buy a grocery store generic brand to save money)

1 raw egg

1/2 teaspoon Kayro syrup (or a generic white syrup like Kayro to save money)

1 (12oz) can evaporated milk (not condensed milk)

Blend...

Then pour into a container that has a lid to seal it tight-- ADD 6 ounces of sterile, or bottled drinking water) This is the complete formula. The reason you add the sterile or bottled drinking water after blending is because the blender will not hold it all at once time.

You can bottle fed them with a normal baby bottle-- or put in drinking/food bowls.

Now, buy an all natural puppy food that does not have corn and does not have corn glutens in it. Go to your pet store and read the ingredients of the advertised natural puppy foods and select one you can afford.

Put some dry puppy food in a sealable bowl (like Tupperware, Rubbermaid, etc.) and add some formula to it and seal. Allow to soak for awhile.

When soft, (completely soft) mash with a fork and spoon both. Using a fork first then the spoon to mash.

It makes a puppy "mash" which is easy for them to eat, like a canned puppy food. They won't choke.

Keep a bowl soaking while dishing out of one that is soaked. It's a back up---

Feed them as often as they want. Don't leave out because it can go bad-- but offer it to them every 3 hours.

They are accustomed to nursing their mother whenever-- and too young to have been weened from her.

Let me know in 2 weeks how much weight they gained.

Note:

Go ahead and feed them with a baby bottle and allow them to drink the milk in a bowl to learn too. But a bottle is best for the formula. Let them eat the "puppy mash" you make up as often as they want. You can substitute the formula in the food with water so you can leave it out for them longer.

Be sure to keep their docked tails clean with a sterile skin cleaner and put a triple antibiotic on it twice a day (morning after cleaning and night before bedtime after cleaning)..........
