Question
QUESTION: i think dog clothes are cute  and i am seriously thinking of getting a boston terrier i have even located a breeder in my area (but have not contacted them yet) but was wondering if grown boston terriers fit into dog clothing.

ANSWER: Hello, Yes....but please be awre a dog isnt a stuffed toy that will just sit and wear cute clothes....an email starting like yours did worries me....will the dog be left for dead when the owner fails to housebreak it or whatever because it is too much work and not what they expected...a stuffed dog would be better to dress up if thats all youwant one for by the way...and bostons are too big to fit in dog purses, please see my website for much more info...I own a boston terrier and am well educated in the breed

bostons being a fine coated breed need to wear coats or sweaters during winter and fall walks they in my experiance hate the rain and wet and often dont want to go for a walk when its raining.

Answer
Hello, Thank goodness you sounds like you'll offer a Boston a loving home indeed with lots of playmates as well. Bostons adore other dogs thou they are dog aggressive...often would pick fights with strange dogs for this reason I strongly recommend a puppy aged 8-12 weeks old as at this age you wouldn't have any problems introducing them. Bostons also love cats....stray cats I'm not too sure of but my mother has a kitten he is almost 1 year old now ever since she brought him home my Hannah(Boston terrier) loved him those two are the best of friends and the cat often puts her in a head lock lol. Bostons also are great with kids if you might have some later on or have grandkids or neices/nephews or whatever as they are not snappy with children at all. bostons are very emotional dogs and form very tight emotional bonds with there owners a Boston is for keeps. These dogs are so very loving they will never stop with there kisses loves to be scratched and mine adores belly rubs! They are avade eaters and care must be taken they don't get over weight.... they can be prone to breathing problems but buying from a registered breeder who is a member of the akc or ckc will help avoid a puppy with breathing problems so often found in dogs from backyard breeders. They are also prone to allergies Hannah has allergies and she isn't 2 years old yet shes had them since she was 8 months old poor little girl I blame this partly on the diet I was feeding her.... she now is eating(and I strongly recommend this brand as all my dogs are on it) Blue Buffalo also known as blue buffalo co...fish and sweet potatoe for this is hypo allergic if ever a dog of yours should have allergies switch to a fish and potatoe diet it is hypo allergic, Hannah also takes Benadryl Allergy pills one every day or two most of the year as well for her allergies(as recommended via my vet many times because two of my dogs have permanent allergies one had seasonal allergies twice). Bostons can never be left in a warm car...no dog should but the car gets so hot so fast this breed will die quickly....care must be taken not to walk this breed in overly hot or Humid weather as the dog can not breath real well at such times and if its hot in your house a fan should be directed to an area where the dog can lay to cool off. winter care involves dressing the dog in one or two sweaters during walks...also I highly recommend seeking out paw pad protector cream for the winter...it percent the pads getting overly cold...getting cracked....and prevents damage from salted sidewalks...the booties just don't stay on. If its very extremely cold out don't want the Boston terrier as the eyes are rather protrudent and can get too cold and cause major health problems. I hope this offers much insight and more oh and please see my website via info on breathing problems;
