BOSTON TERRIER rust colored coat;

Hi Marie, my question is my bostons white fur is begining to turn a rust orange. He also is getting heavy stains under his eyes.It started with his nails which now are all rust red color. And it moved to his whole body, its ben slowly turning rust for about 3 months. He has been on the same food his whole life which is about 5 years old. His food is Prescription brand WD and ID mixed. He does seem to be in any pain, but it is kinda strange. Do you know what it might be? Thanks-Craig

Hi Craig,  The first thing that comes to mind in not enough iron in his foods.
Low iron can make a black coat turn rust in color.
Stains under the eye can also mean allergies.
You can have the vet run some blood work on this kid's thryoid.

I have some supplements that can help along with a food change over.
