Question
I would like a Boston but I am worried about respiratory problems. Are respiratory problem expensive to treat? and what risks come from respiratory problems?
Thanks.

Answer
Hello Maia. If you go throguh a repitable breeder who registers and shows there dog you should not have any problems with stenic nares or enlongated soft palate. I bought my boston terrier from someone through a locle internet ad....bad mistake she was diegnoses at 8 weeks with sever stenic nare...I thought her snoring and snorting were normal but it was a bit extensive....my vet noticed imeditly and she was put to sleep for her surgery at 10 weeks. I vet cut me a deal because she thought Hannah might need soft palate correction i the future as hers is slightly enlongated but not overly...she said to wait and see if there were no problems later on..there werent and she didnt need more surgery. The surgery would have cost me just over $400 candain but my vet did it for $325/355 because I am a very frequent custamer there with my three dogs. My advice is simple get your puppy from a good breeder the problems will be sparse if there are any and your quaility breeder may help with any problems that pop up money wise. Best of luck on your veture to find a registered breeder and with that said bostons are very funny, comical, joker dogs with lots of love to give they are very lvoing with there family.
