Sore Shoulder on Boston ; benadryl for pets;

Hi.  My name is Paul and I have a four year old purebred Boston Terrier.  I took him for a walk yesterday, and then later took him to the dog park.  This morning I noticed that his front left leg was sore.  He favors it and does not jump like like normal.  He does put weight on it and does walk but it looks difficult at times.  He was also scratching at it.  Is there something that we can do to make it better?  Should he see the vet to get looked at further?

Hi Paul;  I wonder if something bit him?  He favors the area but is also scratching at it???  Sounds like some kind of a contact allergy or insect bite.   Yes, you can give Benadryl 1-2 mg for every pound... Call you vet and they can advise.
If the Benadryl works, it was just an insect bite.
