Question
QUESTION: I have a Boston Terrier puppy and she is 8 months old. We have been following a manual and using experiance from our other dog to house train her but she is still not "potty-trained". What books would you recommend? What should we do [list ways of training her]?

ANSWER: Hi, Heres my potty training website: http://www.freewebs.com/dustycovens/housebreakingyourpooch.htm

She should be trained by now mine was fully trained at 8 months with Zero accidents.

QUESTION: Yes well the method you spoke about in your website is actually exactly what we have been doing. Is there any other methods you would recommend?
ANSWER: Really? and it didn't work? I think thats a bit odd as thats how I house trained my Three dogs when they were puppies! I've never tryed anything else, I can say that if you can catch the puppy 'going' in the house  Say No in a firm voice and make eye contact the puppy will be rather sad she has upset you and will begin to learn this is Wrong...when you do take her outside and she goes' tell her shes a good girl sound very excited and call her over pick her up or just fuss over her. When are the accidents happening most offen? do you crate her when you leave for work or to go shopping? If not I highly reccomend doing this just be sure she goes outside before crating her. Also if you are busy housecleaning or doing luanndry and she is somewhere else in the home either put her outside or block her into a single easy to clean room with slick floors such as the kitchen until your done this pervents her going on your favorite carpet when yuo wern't watching to let her out. I can find some info links to other training pages for you when you remail, Checking out www.dogbreedinfo.org might help in the care training+ page at the top you will find just about everything I am not sure if there potty training method is the same as mine or not. Bostons seem to be a be odd this way they often Fail to make any noise when they need to go outside... Mine will go stand by the door..she will be seen bolting through the house and then you will find her sitting at the door.  Best of luck with your puppy....there a re a few ways to house break a dog so keep trying.
