Question
QUESTION: My Boston terrier started losing her hair behind her ears and now it has spread out to her belly, backs of her legs, front of her neck and its starting to crawl up her sides. her skin looks healthy and not irritated. I have taken her to the vet and they cant figure it out. I have changed her food but im getting worried I think my little girl is going to be bald..Any advice would be appreciated..She doesn't seem to be uncomfortable at all but something has to be causing it..Thank you for your time..J

ANSWER: Hi Julie - She may be allergic to something in her environment or foods.  Here is my suggestions for your girl..

Change her food over to Innova Evo - give her your old food and the new food x 2 weeks.  ( make a 50/50 mix)..
This food is 99 % meat and almost no fillers.  Found at most pet stores...INNOVA EVO..
Let me know if you can't find it.
"
Next, give her 1/2 cup per day of Activia" yogurt - the one with the active cultures... Do the for 3 weeks.  ( vanilla is fine)

Give her some Acidophilus - buy the 1 billion CFUs and give just 1/2 pill per day - for at least 2-3 months...( low cost)- All Natural and Safe for her..

Last - NuVET Plus is a Must for this baby!  Immune System Booster- One of the BEST Skin and Coat supplements in the USA-
Allergy Blaster!
Only about .55 cents per day...

QUESTION: Thank you for your response..I'm just wondering, if she isn't scratching and her skin isn't irritated can it still be allergies? I read that Boston terriers can be prone to pattern hair loss like a hereditary thing. If this is the case is there any way to stop the hair loss? Is your recommendation based on it being allergies? Are you a vet? thank you..Julie

Answer
Hi - Many Boston Breeders send the pups home on NuVET for a lifetime... It is a skin and coat supplement and Immune System Booster/Healer... Developed by VETs and Medical Doctors in an FDA approved plant in California.
Allergies can manifest themselves in intestinal gas, itching, balding spots, swollen paws.... and many many more ways....
It is worth a try - If my suggestions help your Boston...... he may have an allergy or just a "Weakened" Immune System.  Sounds like he may have some systemic yeast overgrowth in his blood...

As for my credentials- Licensed Nurse ( humans); Nutritional Pet certifications; Pet EMT certified; Pet Doggie Hotel owner and operator; Breeder and Pet Chef.

I sure hope you try some of my suggestions... It can't hurt and they are natural and safe options for your baby..
I love Bostons!

See Ya!
