Cats and coal

Question
Hi, this a bit a bit strange but my cat is quite taken with laying
and rubbing herself all over the coal that we have delivered.  She
is a norwegian forest cat and has only started doing this in the
past month..  Just wondered if you had heard of anything like
this before.  many thanks for any help you can provide.

No, I have never heard of this.  However, If this has just started, I think a visit to the vet is warranted to see if there is some underlying cause to this behavior.  It is possible that the cat has some skin or parasite problem that, for some reason, makes it feel better to "scratch itself?" on the coal.
