not using litter

16:26:16

Question
My 4 month old kitten that has always used his litter has started to pee in the bathroom sink when we are at home, shortly after we have used the bathroom, and occasionally when we are away.  He still uses his litter occasionally.  What does this mean and what should I do about this?

Thank you,
Estelle

Answer
It can be a few things. He is approaching sexual maturity and may be marking and also, once kitty has peed in a spot, he will pee there again unless you clean it with a cleaner for pet stains that completely eliminates his scent. Read this article:

First thing to do is clean up properly and then determine if he's peeing or marking territory and follow through accordingly. Patience is key and you may need to involve your vet.
