classifying a calico

Everything I have found regarding the coloring of calico has many tri-color schemes. I have a siamese calico with blue eyes.  I now have a grandson from her that looks very much like her.  He is gorgeous and blue eyed.  He is mostly white, cream, and black with some of the black looking smokey gray.  Is he classified as a calico in this instance?  I would be happy to send a picture.

Answer
Donna,

No, this is not a calico.  It looks to be a seal mink and white.

The mink pattern in a cat occurs when the cat carries one Siamese gene and one Burmese gene.  They tend to have points (color on the ears, tail, face, paws) which are not as distinctive as the Siamese, and they tend to have aqua colored eyes.

The with white pattern can occur with any other pattern.

Best regards... Norm.
