cat mouth sore

Question
Hi, My cat suffered from a leaky eye a few weeks ago, this has now cleared up but she now has a sore on her lip.  It doesn't seem to be bothering her and is dry and hard.  She is around 3 years old and is an indoor cat.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Claire

Answer
If you've never had her tested for feline leukemia or FIV then I would definitely recommend it as some of the symptoms can be eye infections and mouth ulcers.  The herpes virus can also cause the eye problems, so the sore on her lip could be completely unrelated, but I would take her in to your vet to be sure.
