changing and relocating litterbox

Question
we have 3 cats in our house we changed to a auto cleaning litterbox . however the cats wont go in it the motor makes them stay out so we still have the old one right next to it also it is the kitchen and we are remodeling soon and i want to relocate the litterbox to the laundry room i am afraid they will stop using the litterbox if i move it  please help

get rid of the auto litterbox
keep the old one where its at
put a new litterpan in the laundry room
leave atleast these 2 out since you have 3 cats!

(ideal = 1 litterpan per cat + 1 extra litterpan...if you live in a two story plus house, each level should have a litterpan for cats to get to)
