QuestionMy female Himalayan cat had 4 babies, three were sold and went to homes at 7 weeks. We have one still nursing, but I noticed two of mom's breasts are large, hard and are beginning to look red... I'm concerned. What can I do to relieve the pain she must be in and cause the milk to dry up?
AnswerHi Ria. Your Queen is probably not in pain... she's been nursing and that's one of the things that will happen when you've been nursing. Once she stops nursing completely, as with women, the milk production will stop, and she'll be just fine. Her nipples may stay a little larger, but that's completely normal as well. Once you have decided to stop breeding her, make sure she gets spayed!
Good luck!
