Hello,

I just had a question about my cat, he recently turned 15, and seems to be in good shape.  last night, however, he called me down to watch him in the litter box, as he sometimes does, however, he caught my attention, when he went, his rear end facing me, instead of his face.  I also noticed, he had some blood, (almost 1/2 of what he had went was blood)  Years ago, he at a UTI, but was put on a special diet, and it went fine.  However, I am wondering, if this might be the same thing, or perhaps he got some of the recalled cat food?  I was also thinking, that maybe he ate a bird or something of that nature.  This morning, I was watching him outside, and he was eating some grass, the past few weeks, he has been vomiting every other day or so.  Ive taken him off wet cat food a few months ago, but monday(his brithday) he had some, any ideas what this might be?  thanks

Hi Christina.  If there was about 1/2 of the contents of his bowel movements being blood, collect a sample and take it to the vet for analysis.  This could be a number of things - and as much as I would love to give you my opinion, it's in the best interests of your kitty to get the poop on the poop, so to speak.
