dizzy cat

My cat became very ill a week ago, throwing up four times in half a day, then using the bathroom all over herself - very uncharacteristic.  She wouldn't open her eyes or even move.  As the days have progressed, she is now walking, but very clumsy and her head is always tilted as though her balance is way off.  She stumbles with every step.  She went to the vet the day after the vomiting, however they said she had a kidney infection and she is on antibiotics twice a day.  I'm not sure if they are helping or not.

It could be any number of things, none of them good.  Since you have already seen the vet, call them back and make sure they are kept up to date on her situation.  Veterinarians are very good about that.  They can not change medication or help your cat if they don't know what is going on.
