kitten-sitting

I have a 1 year old male, very spoiled, cat.  My friend asked me to watch her 10 week old female kitten while they go on vacation.  I'm afraid my cat is not going to be nice to the kitten.. is there anything I can do to try to make the meeting, and the week, friendly?

You are absolutely correct!  They may get along after a couple of days, but then again, they may not.

Were it me, I would separate them for the week if they do not make up right away.

I would expect a couple of days of hissing and spitting and posturing from the 1 year old, but it could go on the whole week. One thing for sure is that your male will not hurt the kitten!!!!!

You can judge how it is going and decide whether to separate them or not.
