i had my male cat spayed

Hi i have just had my 1 yr old male cat spayed (yesterday)
i have another 1 yr old girl cat who has just had babies but from when we have got him home from the vets the female cat keeps going mad at him and we have had to split them up is this because she is looking after her kittens? they were really good friends before this
How can i get them to get along??

Hi Diane,

Part of it is because of the kittens. the other part is because when the male went to the vets and stayed there he picked up lot of strange smells on him. The female sees the cat she knows but he doesn't smell like him. This is why she is attacking him. She is confused. Give them a few days. Rub them both with the same towel making sure you hit the scent glands. Exchange their bedding. All should be ok in about a week or two. Good luck.
