Question
I have a 4 week old litter of bermisse kittens and as they get loder and they are starting to climb out of their bed , I moved them to a taller box and the mother cat keeps trying to move them . We dont like to lock her in with them as she is a good mum and has been happy to come and go as required, until now ???? what can i do . thank Kay

Answer
Kaylene,

All moms seem to move their kittens at least once. She is not comfortable where you put the kittens. She is trying to move them where she wants them. Have you just watched her to see where she wants them?

If the kittens are trying to climb out maybe they should be where they can move around more because that helps them develop their legs and joints.

Where were you planning on keeping them when they got older? They can't stay in a box for too long. Can you make a large "fenced in" area somewhere for them? Maybe line some cardboard boxes in a big square in a room so they can't get out but mom can get in and the babies can learn how to run and play.
