senior thyroid cat meows loudly all the time

My mom has a 14 yr old cat who has hyperthyroidism.  I know that this sometimes can cause the meowing sessions but mom says he's very loud and does this at any time of the day or night. She tries to bring him in where she is so he's not alone but that doesn't seem to comfort him. She's concerned about him waking everyone in the other apartments.  How can we comfort him?  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Hi Dawn,

The best thing I can suggest for him, if you can, is to get him a companion. Cats do great together. This will help quiet him and comfort him. If you can't get another cat try a product called Feliway Comfort Zone. This will help soothe him. Good luck.
