nutering a kitten

I have a five month old kitten that is getting ready to be neutered.  He is not around other cats, therefore I am not sure if the procedure is necessary.  I do not have any problems such as spraying.  Will this be something that can still occur later?  Why would you recommend neutering a cat?  Thanks

Yes, I would recommend neutering the kitten.  5 months of age is a good age to do it.

A whole cat can make an awful pet judt doing what comes naturally, marking territory (spraying), caterwauling when in season or hearing other cats in season, becoming overly aggressive, etc.

He will make a much better pet, be much nappier, if he is not fighting his hormones.
