male vs. female

Hi, we have a 2-year-old male cat and wouuld like to get a kitten. My question is, should we get a male or female kitten? He's met the female kitten next door and they seem to get along plyfully.

Assuming your male cat is neutered and you will be neutering his buddy, it really does not matter if you get a male kitten or a female kitten.  In either case, I would look at neutering the kitten by 4 months of age.
