Cat not using litterbox

I have a calico cat that just turned 3 years old.  She has always been good about going in the litterbox.  We painted the kitchen 2 weeks ago (where the litterbox is) and moved the litterbox from one wall to another and now she is going to the bathroom everywhere but where she is supposed to.  How do I stop this?  Is it from moving the litter box?  We moved it back.

Yes, I'd say it was from moving the box. Some cats are ok with change, some are not. The problem now is getting her back in the box... make sure that you've cleaned all the areas where she has gone outside the box with an anti-urine produce (biozet is a great one) Once kitty has marked a spot, she will think it is ok to go there. You'll need to totally remove the scent.

Keep an eye on kitty, it could be a sign that something is medically wrong. How is her eating/drinking? Does she seem to be going to the washroom more than usual? If you've noticed anything out of order, then take her to the vet, and if  after cleaning she continues to go outside the box, I'd take her for a checkup.. but it sounds like she's just a bit upset at having her routine changed.
