Cats bullying vs playing

Question
Hey I have 2 cats, one is a younger one, about 5 or 6 months old, the other is an older cat 10+ years old.  The kitten is always chasing the older cat around the house, which of course the older cat is always snarling when this happens.  But she doesn't seem to be afraid of the kitten.  I didn't know if the kitten is bullying the older cat or not.  There are times that the older cat pins down the younger cat to give it a bath.  On a side note, I taught the kitten to play fetch with her dingle balls.  I throw them she brings them back to be thrown again.

Answer
Michael,

The snarling and "fighting" is a common end to games of chase.  No bullying here.  This is just how cats play.

If you watch a vet give a shot, the vet literally has to punch the needle through the cat's skin, since it is so tough!  Thus cats develop some pretty rough biting and scratching behaviors as part of their play.  Fortunately, they can be taught to play gently with us soft skinned humans.

As to fetch, don't you think that maybe the kitten thinks it has taught you how to play fetch? <ggg>!!

Best regards... Norm.
