Question
Ok, first is my cat won't stop pooping and peeing on my bed. She never had this problem as a kitten, and she is only 1 year old. My bed is much higher up then the litter box, so i don't think shes having trouble getting in and out of the litter box.

Second, she has become really nasty in her behavior. The only time she is nice or purring is when she's eating. But as soon as she is done she turns attitudes.

Answer
Chip,

Since you are describing significant behavioral and personality changes I strongly recommend that you take your kitty to the vet as soon as possible for a complete check up and full blood and urine testing. Most often when cats dramatically change the way that they act or eliminate they are sick. The cat is not doing this to make you angry or to frustrate you, she is trying to let you know that something is wrong. Your kitty is trying her best to leave a message for you in her language and she figures that the best place to leave a message is on your bed which she sees as your territory. You also want to make sure that the litter boxes are regularly cleaned, this means that you can't count on children in the home to do this chore. I strongly suggest that you do not use scented litter or litter additives. It is also wise to ensure that the area where the litter boxes are located has no air fresheners or other strong scents. Some cats are sensitive to scents in the same way that people are and it is uncomfortable for them to be around heavily scented items. It is a good idea to make sure that the litter boxes are located in private and convenient places on each floor. It is very important that you have enough litter boxes. I generally recommend one litter box per cat plus one per level of your home to avoid control related mistakes as well as to cater to the kitties who prefer to pee in one box and poop in the other. If your kitty has any health issues that make her feel unwell or even cause her serious pain or discomfort then the inappropriate elimination will likely go away with treatment of any medical issues that she may have. I also have to address one further issue, I know that many people have heard that the best way to deal with a house soiling kitty is to hit them or rub their face in their mistakes. Hitting the cat is not going to stop her from making mistakes outside of the litter box, it is just going to cause her to become fearful. Rubbing a cat's face in urine or feces is not only inhumane, it's disgusting as well. I hope that you find this information helpful.
