why does my cat keep licking herself

my cat licks her fur till there is just skin ,now she has patches of fur missing and she doesnt stop legs arms belly.  What do i do to get her to stop ?

Apologies for the delay in reply as I had some problems in getting into the all-experts website for a while.

I would suggest that you bring your cat to a vet for a checkup. I suspect that she has some skin problem that would need medical attention.
