opening a kittens eyes

Question
my cat had a litter of kittens on june 1/07 three of the kittens have there eyes open but one the smallest of the litter never opened it's eyes yet has been 15 days now wondering if there is someway to help her with the process

Answer
Shorthair kittens begin to open their eyes at 5-8 days.
Longhair kittens do not open their eyes until 10-14 days.

This kitten could be longhaired if the litter is of unknown domestic origin. It could also be that this "runt" of the litter is developing a little late.

I have to suggest you contact a vet though. I would never recommend you try and open the kittens eyes on your own. And if there is a problem with the eyes, the vet is best equipped to handle this. So i must recommend you call a vet.
