water bowls

i have a cat who isn't a year old until march we got him April - maybe- he will make his 2 front paws stiff and scratch at the water bowl and up set it can you please help me try to understand why?

I am afraid I have no answer for that behavior.  Some cats love to play with water and will do it whenever they have a chance.

I would get a very heavy bottomed water bowl (available from most pet supermarkets) and put it on a plastic tray to see if you can contain the mess.
