follow up

This is for Ali and is a follow up to my original question.  Per your advice I purchased the
Dr. Bach Recovery Plus to help calm both cats (the older cat and the new cat I
brought in to foster).  I am wondering for how long I should give them this
formula in their water and how long you think it will take for them to at least
tolerate each other.  The young cat (6 months) is trying to be friendly but my
older cat who is almost 11 continues to hiss and growl and keep her distance.  I
am trying to give them both lots of cuddles and attention (separately) but am
concerned at the long-term affect this might have on my older cat.  She is very
loved and I would not want to cause any bad feelings with her.  Thanks for your

I am not familiar with Dr. Bach Recovery Plus, the recommendation that I made was for a Bach flower essence formula called Rescue Remedy. Rescue Remedy can be given indefinitely or until you feel that the problem has been solved. Just so that you are aware homeopathy can be a bit like peeling an onion - you will solve one issue to find another sometimes. I would strongly suggest that you purchase the Rescue Remedy, the DIN # is 02203529 just so that you can be sure that you are getting the right product. It comes in a semi opague brown bottle with a yellow label. It says Bach Rescue Remedy and in smaller print just under that it states "to comfort and reassure". The active ingredients in this formula are as follows: 5x Helianthemum nummularium, 5x Clematis vitalba, 5x Impatiens glandulifera, 5x Prunus cerasifera, 5x Ornithogalum umbellatum in a 27% grape alcohol solution. Do follow the 6-8 drop/day dosage in the water bowl instead of the dosage on the bottle which is calculated based on a 150 pound human. I hope that this clarifies my earlier recommendation. I do not see this having a negative effect on your older cat I have used this product with cats of all ages for many years and it has never been harmful.
