Question
my out door cat had her first litter i have feed the mother since she could walk and this mornining she showed up on my front porch with one of here 17 day old kittins I havent hererd the litter for a week is she asking for help with the kittin

Answer
Hi Tyson.  It isn't uncommon for moms to move litters close to people that they trust.  This is especially true when the little ones start to become a little more active and may begin wandering outside the nest.  My guess is this baby has started to wiggle around too much, and mom has found him straying dangerously far from the hiding spot where she's had the rest of the litter.  She's probably hoping for some extra help watching over the baby.

Is there any possibility of tracking mama to find the litter, and moving everyone inside for a while?  Now that the babies are getting to the age where they're starting to walk, life is going to get more dangerous for them.  Most outdoor kittens don't survive their first few months.  And mom is also going to be ready to conceive again in a few short weeks.  If she isn't spayed, she could have three or even four litters a year.  That's a lot of kittens to find homes for!  Or if no homes are found for them, they could all breed together and create an out of control cat population for you very quickly.  Your kitty could be spayed about two weeks after weaning her litter, and then she could be let back outside.  But it's important not to let her outside until then, because she could become pregnant again at any time.
