Cat Shedding

My cat is starting to shed fur in small clumps. I have been picking them up around the house now for about a week.
Although there are no behavioral changes nor does she seem sick, I just find it a little odd...She is 2yrs. old and is a long haired mancoon-tabby.  Thank you for info you can produce. (I have not changed her diet)

The cause of the shedding that you describe could be allergies, thyroid disfunction or other medical conditions so I would suggest that you have this kitty evaluated by your vet. You will probably need to talk with the vet about blood work as some of the health problems that I mention can only be detected by analyzing a sample of your kitty's blood.
