It varies by kitten but generally a week or so is the length of the average heat.  It will keep recurring as long as the weather is nice (cats will continue to mate until it starts to get cold) so if you don't want to put up with the yowling and the males coming around fighting you might want to consider getting her spayed before her next heat.  Just wait until she's done with this heat, its harder to spay them and many vets charge extra.
