cat wounds

we found a abandoned kittin and he has a open wound on his leg and it has maggots...we are unable to get him to a vet right away....how would we clean the wound and bandage it up untill we are able to get it to a vet.?

yes try to clean the wound with warm water with a mild solution of TCP. However i wouldn't try to cover it up just keep the kitten inside and in a small area of room until you can get them to the vets.
