Is Kitty pregnant??

Kitty is 16 months old. I believe she could've got pregnant around Aug 4th. Her nipples are pink and the hair immediatly around them is disappearing but they are not swollen. Her belly is enlarged in all areas and VERY hard but have not felt any movement. My sister who was a vet tech felt her 2 weeks ago and felt some "lumps" or kittens and sort of measured the distance of her bulging belly to that of her back end and said she thought she would have them within a week or two. I've read alot about the care and signs of pregnancy but Kitty is not displaying some of these. She IS napping and eating TONS, but she is not more loveable. In fact, she really does not want to be bothered. If she allows us to comfort her, she does NOT want us to touch her belly. If the other animals go near her sometimes she will swipe at them. This is not everyday but, lately it is happening more and more. Yesterday, the hair on her bum looked wet and "unclean" (she's a longhair). I don't think it was form her licking herself but have'nt noticed anything since then. I can't say that she's nesting. We made her 2 spots of comfort, one in my walk in closet and the other in a large box and she shares time equally in them. As I said, I have NOT seen any movement but not sure that I would because she has a ton of hair. I have been checking her temp the last couple of night, the first was 100.7 and the next 100.5 I'm not sure if Im crazy or she's really pregnant?? Could it be a false pregnancy since she's not displaying "normal" behaviors?"

Hi Jenn, it august 4th the only date she could have been bred? did you see her get bred? if she was bred aug 4 she should have had the kittens a week ago. If she was bred on a different date then she could be pregnant and from your description of her she would be due in a couple of weeks.. at the earliest.  When you rest your hand on her side you should be able to feel kitten movement even if she is a long haired cat. This movement becomes noticeable about 6 weeks along. By the time she is 8 weeks pregnant you can see her sides moving from across the room ! and then she will have the kittens a week later. so, right now she is either 1. not pregnant and just getting pudgy 2. pregnant but not far enough along to be delivering anytime soon.
