Question
My cat injured his leg...thought it was a bite..the vet did drain, clean, and give antibiotics...but after 10 days he still isnt walking on it..xray showed no break...but dr said poss luxated, or more space than usual...what does this mean? and what should i do

Answer
Hi Darlene,  A luxating patella can run 1-5 levels.  Many times, the levels 1,2, and 3 will repair  without surgery.  Rest and some supplements can help the healing process of a patella or joint injury.
Here is a very good article on this problem:

I would love to try your cat on some supplements along with your VET's care.
The supplements are not medications at all.

1.  Colloidal Silver -  This is a Natural Antibiotic and Not a drug
See here for the usage of Silver in Cats -

2.  NuVET Feline Formula - this is a powder that you give 1 x per day --- Helps to Reduce inflammation and heals.  This also helps to reduce arthritis by decreasing the swelling associated with joint injuries.
Holistic and Natural :  Call the gals and ask them about the NuVet Feline powder-
1-800-474-7044  ( Not sold in stores)
Tell them that Marie is working with you.  ( Give order discount code 81098 for the 15% OFF)
http://www.nuvet.com/81098

They sell NuVET wafers for dogs and the powder for cats.

3.  Olive oil, give 1/8 of a teaspoon 1 - 2 x per day  ( Make sure it is pure olive oil)

Let me know how you do with the supplements.  Many times the luxation will correct itself by rest time and good nutrition.

Make sure you cat is getting a good food.  My favorites are: Innova, Solid Gold, Wellness, Merrick, and Evangers brands.
Cats can have dry kibble and wet canned food as a Topper.
I place the dry kibble in a dish and then 1-2 teaspoons of the wet canned food onto top.
Drizzle with a teaspoon or two of water.

Good luck
