Abyssinian anal glands?

14:24:53

Question
I've had many cats but never a pure breed. My pure bred Aby has what looks like hemoroids at times and, just when I think about taking her to the vet, the 'tag' disappears or becomes dried, but is obviously part of the anus. Do I need to be doing something about this? Or does the cat take care of it on it's own?
She is on inhaled steroids at times for mild asthma, would this have anything to do with it?

thanks....

Answer
Laura,

Anal glands do not take care of themselves.  Also, I have never heard of a cat having hemorrhoids, but I am not a vet. Is it possible what you are seeing are tapeworm segments?

I believe a vet visit to explain the mystery is in order.

Please let me know what you find out.

Best regards... Norm.
