Question
Hi i have a blue point persian aged 10 now,

I just have a general question regarding, his eating and sleepin habits.

When its cold and dull he does alot of sleeping and eating he has always been like that.

My main concern is that he is maybes eating and sleeping too much.

we always leave a bowl of cat hills science plan cat biscuits ( meal in one formula) out for him

the question i have is should we tighten his feeding regime, instea dof leaving his biscuits out all day so eh can eat go back 2 sleep etc, maybes cut them down to 2- 3 meal times a day

what do you think? would that make him more active?

Answer
Cats tend to be grazers and often like to eat throughout the day and moreso at night.  As long as you are not continuously filling the food bowl I wouldn't worry about putting him on meal schedules at this point.  If he is losing weight and not acting normally, then you should take him to the vet for a checkup and some blood tests.  If he is overweight, then you should try to get him to exercise and cut back the total amount he is eating.  The majority of cats sleep about 22 hours a day--it's a cat's life.  You may also want to change his diet.  Royal Canin makes a Persian-Breed Specific food that may be a bit better for him.
