foggy looking film over a dogs eye

Question
Over the past couple of months my dog has begun to develop a foggy film over her left eye. So much so that you can barely see the pupil anymore. It seems to be slightly affecting her vision, especially at nighttime when it is darker. Do you know what this could possibly be, and if so what we could do to clear it up? Thank you, danica.

Answer
I don't know how old this dog is, so it's hard to say what this could be.
There are many causes for this depending on if it is on the surface of the eye or actually inside the chamber.
One the surface:
foreign body irritations
eyelashes rubbing the eyes
diabetes forming and untreated
corneal damage from some irritant or chemical.
Rubbing the eye

inside the eye:
cataracts
interior uveitis
dislodged retina or lens
and others.

Most important thing to know is that this needs to be seen and treated by a veterinarian. Eye problems are not to be waited on or messed with at home.
